Frequent conection failures

I seem to have a very high failure rate when trying to connect to devices via both the webapp and the iphone app. For any given connection, it will sometimes work and then later I will get  "Sorry, something went wrong. Please check the port and try again.". It happens for both HTTP and HTTPS connections.

 

Is there anything I can do to track down the cause of these failures?

Just to follow up on my own post, things seem to be much better now - I hardly ever get connection error now.
