New agent not sending alert emails

Hi @icdllc, I checked your case and I couldn't find any alert configured at your newer agent, please follow to the Webapp > Select the agent and under the Alert tile configure the alerts for that agent: If you still have problem, please send a message to support@domotz.com so we can better assist you. Kind regards, Henrique salvador Domotz Support
  3. I have an agent installed that has email alerts configured that works well. I just recently added another agent to my Domotz and configured the alerts with emails, but for some reason I never receive any alert emails from this agent. It is using the same email address in the alert configuration as the one that works. Cam someone give me an idea on what I can check in order to get the new agent to send me alert emails? Thanks.

    Windows OS Alert

It is for the entire network that you monitor through Domotz. You can define which VLAN you want to be monitored through Domotz.

    Windows OS Alert

Are you able to set this alert by vlan, or is it just the entire network? Thanks

    How-to Change Monitored Subnet

Hi - I changed the subnet addressing for all my devices including Synology NAS. But Domotz Agent still shows the old subnet in its network config. There is no 'Edit' button to click on to change the subnet. How is this done? thx

    Windows OS Alert

this is a very good idea. At the moment, it is possible to be notified if there is a NEW device (in general) connecting to a specified Network, but it does not allow to filter on the OS. So, my recommendation is that on a specific network, where you only expect a certain list of devices connected, you set that Alert so that you are notified as soon as a New Device connects to it. Then you will need to check the OS of that new device. We will take your suggestion as a feature request.

    Windows OS Alert

Is there a way I can create an alert that specifies if a workstation connects to the network that is a specific OS type? I want to create an alert so I know if someone plugs their home laptop into our network.

    IPv6 Support

Thanks for the very fast answer, I do fully understand this and appreciate your release velocity - still a happy customer, but it would be great to have support now v6 is becoming the norm.

    IPv6 Support

I am so sorry. We had this in mind since we were just a small startup. Moving on, other features have always taken priority, and no much demand from our customers for IPV6. So we have given priority to other features. As you can see from our release notes and newsletter we keep delivering at a very fast pace, and very advanced features, to satisfy the demand of features. I will discuss with our CTO, though.

    IPv6 Support

So 2016 has come and gone. It's now 2020, still no IPv6 support? It was introduced in 1995, and most ISPs now support it and run IPv6 as standard. What's going on with Domotz?
  14. Usually PDUs which allow to "lock" specific outlets, do block the commands at the backend level. However, it seems that the Panamax BlueBolt PDUs, only block from the "front-end" side. Anyway, we will look into this, so that Domotz can show (and therefore block actions) when a specific outlet is locked. We will follow-up on the support line.

    Downtime report?

Thanks for this request. Actually this is something that we have in our roadmap to be included as an extension to the monthly report capabilities (PDF). As a matter of fact, in the last few weeks we have already added few more details in the monthly report, and also allowed the users to automatically generate the report on the first of month. There is definitely an interest into continuing to enrich the report with this type of information.
  16. Just did a test to see what happens if you send a power off command to an outlet that is locked in Panamax BlueBolt setup. Unfortunately, it turned the outlet off. I was sure it would only take a power cycle command if the outlet was locked. This obviously poses a serious risk of accidentally shutting off any network component that Domotz (and/or Panamax) rely on to get to the WAN. Can this be fixed so the outlet shows as locked in Domotz? Thanks!

    Windows Agent - Native Installer

In terms of user functionalities, a part temporary issues or limitations, they are exactly the same. Both the options offer the same features. However, let me mention a few differences: - Configuration of VLANs: It is possible configuring VLANs on the Windows PC/Server as well. The Domotz Agent, if VLANs are created at the network stack, will scan them. However, we do not provide a web interface for doing that configuration, since this will require a low-level access to the Hardware, which we do not have when the Domotz Agent is not hosted on our hardware. On the other hand, having access to our own Domotz Box network stack, we provide an easy to use Web Interface to configure additional VLANs to be scanned by the Domotz Agent. - Auto-Upgrade: The Domotz Agent for Windows provide a completely automatic and transactional upgrade of the package. However, it is the user responsibility to keep the OS and the rest of packages installed on the Windows PC/Server up-to-date. On the other hand, on the Domotz Box we do automatically upgrade not only the Domotz Agent package, but also the Kernel and OS level (think about security patches). - Domotz Support: We do provide a slightly faster support for the Domotz Boxes (assuming they are connected to the Cloud), given that we can remotely retrieve logs from them -- -- In addition to the above difference, let me mention that we have several users that have leveraged the Domotz Box in order to provide remote assistance to their clients (either they are internal or external customers), without even being on the remote location once. For more information on how to configure a Domotz Box and ship to the remote location, please check this out: In particular the Item 2 of the above article (Usage of Domotz Box to provide remote assistance without being onsite).

How to configure a new Agent without being onsite

The best way to get used to Domotz is to use that on a network that you are familiar with. For instance even your home network. We host a live webinar with Demo and a Q&A session every two weeks. Come check-out our next session, and bring your technicians to that session: https://www.domotz.com/events.php On the same page, you can also check previous webinars and other videos recorded in the past, which can help your technicians to familiarize with the Domotz tool, even though as mentioned, the usage of Domotz is very straigh-forward.

    Monitoring Multiple Sites

Even though this is technically possible, we still recommend a Domotz Agent for each store. This is because leveraging the 3 VLANs on each location, you will be able to collect all the information on each location (layer 2 provides MAC addresses and much more details for each device to be monitored). On the contrary, leveraging just the Layer 3 connectivity, will limited the capability to monitor remote devices (usually VPN limitations). Moreover, if you want to monitor the WAN bandwidth for each location/store, a dedicated Agent per location/store is required.

    Monitoring Multiple Sites

We have a client with 8 retail stores and will be opening more and want to use Domotz to monitor each store. Each one has a SonicWALL with 3 VLANs. Is it possible to deploy a single Domotz box at the HQ location to do this, and still be able to monitor the WAN bandwidth?

Is there a comparison chart of features that are not available in the production Windows agent vs. Domotz hardware?

How to configure a new Agent without being onsite

Are there specific training links that would show examples of actual equipment like the one you mention on your article, on how to do this process? In our case, we are not IT’s since our profession is Audio/Video. For obvious reasons, we have been required to learn all kinds of things network-related. Nevertheless, our lack of actual “base knowledge” on network related matters comes into place. I’d love to be able to provide my technicians with training videos that actually explain and show the kind of process and phisical equipment (NAS, etc) needed for these kinds of deployments.

    06/23 - 2020 Release Notes

This change log covers what's changed in Domotz Pro service since previous Release Notes. These changes include Domotz Pro cloud, Domotz Agent and Domotz Pro App. Since previous Release Notes new versions of Domotz Agent and Domotz Pro App have been released. June 23rd, 2020 In order to fully exploit the new features, functionalities and bug fixes released, please make sure you have installed the latest version of Domotz Pro Mobile App: check on Apple Store or Google Play. Latest version as of today is 2.17.0 Domotz Agent: check on Domotz Portal under the subscription tab. Latest Agent version as of today is 2.9.7 Violet Digital Support: check on Apple Store or Google Play. Latest version as of today is 2.7.0 Domotz Pro WebApp, Desktop App and Portal are already updated to the latest version What's new: Global Management: it is now possible to search and configure agents, and their associated devices, in one easy to use dashboard. Users can now search multiple devices Cross-Agents and Manage them from one single point of access. It is possible to: Search multiple devices: thanks to a new searching engine it is now possible to search across hundreds of thousands of devices available through thousands of Agents deployed to locate a specific device. Users can search cross-agents by specifying MAC addresses (unique), IP addresses, specific vendors, models, and more. User can also locate all the devices which has a specific label/parameter (for instance all the devices in "Rack rooms"). Change properties: users can easily adjust monitoring properties of hundreds of devices cross agents at one time. It is now possible to change the location, zone, type, model and more by selecting multiple devices cross-agents and applying the new properties. Manage Settings: users can use templating to replicate device configurations by exporting settings from one device and importing back into a multitude of other devices selected through the same functionality. For instance, it is now possible to export the SNMP configured OiDs (Eyes) and the relative alerts configured on one device under a specific Domotz Agent, and apply the same configuration to hundreds of other devices (where it is appropriate). ConnectWise Manage Integration: it is now possible to connect a ConnectWise Manage account into Domotz. ConnectWise Manage will become one of the available Contact Channels available to be used in Shared Alerts. This means that Domotz creates and update ConnectWise Service Tickets when a specific event occurs on the networks or devices monitored through Domotz. Domotz creates a ConnectWise Manage Service Ticket for any specified alert within Domotz. The same ticket is updated by Domotz automatically, in the case other events occur on the same network or device and as far as the ticket is still open in ConnectWise Manage. When the previous ticket is closed and a new event occurs on the same network or device, a new ticket will be opened and a reference to the previous ticket is provided. Users are also allowed to associate each Agent to one specific Company/Site and optionally to an Agreement so that every time the ticket is automatically created in ConnectWise, it flows under that specific Company, within the specified Site, and optionally the Ticket might be referred to a specified Agreement in place. At the time of the configuration, the user is also allowed to specify filters to select specific Companies for this association. Agents which are not associated to any Company/Site in ConnectWise Manage will generate service tickets on the Company defined as catch-all one (usually the master account Company itself). Domotz Native Windows Agent: a production version of the Native Windows Agent has been released in Production. As compared to the previous version, the new installer installs services directly in the Windows PC/Server, without configuring a Virtual Machine in it. The package is much smaller and smoother in the installation and configuration. The installer will also take care of any future upgrade, which will be performed automatically by Domotz. The old VirtualMachine based package is still available on request. FAST.com powered by Netflix: it is now possible to select Netflix Servers (through the FAST.com service) to perform automatic and manual bandwidth tests (Speed Tests), as an alternative to the M-LAB based tests (NDT). Users can now select the most appropriate methodology based on the ISP providers and the technology in place. FAST.com becomes the default methodology for the new installed Agents. Improvements: Network Configuration Management restore: it is now allowed to restore configuration files on Cisco SG series Network Configuration Management alert: it is now possible to configure alerts to be triggered on events related to Configuration File changes or misalignment between running and startup (saved) configurations Datto Autotask support for more than 500 Accounts: it is now possible to integrate Domotz with Datto Autotask for the management of more than 500 accounts (link between Domotz Agents and Datto/Autotask Accounts/Sites) Public APIs for Multi-Teams structures: company users can now use Domotz Public API to create additional Teams under specified Areas. Moreover they can use additional APIs to move Domotz Agents across different Teams Public APIs for remote connection traffic usage and limits: users can now monitor the traffic consumed during the month for the Remote Connections and the limits through the usage of Public API New Crestron Controller driver: a new driver based on SSH has been released. This driver allows now the usage of SSH to interact with the Crestron Controller to retrieve information related to Cresnet devices. Araknis Switch support: new models of Switches has been added for the support of PoE capabilities Fix: Intellinet PoE Switch driver has been fixed for some models, where issues were raised The Select-All button in the multi-select capability has been fixed Return button disappearing on some iOS mobile devices has been removed Control4 driver has been fixed for the unlocking of ZigBee capabilities Violet App has been fixed for the Reboot capabilities of devices Violet App has been fixed for the "Report the problem" button issue Isssue on the Pre-payment of licenses performed by Team Members has been fixed Known limitations: VPN on Demand is currently not supported on Luxul Router based Agents. As soon as Luxul team will provide Domotz with the API resources to make this available, Domotz will add this capability Eyes configured for deleted devices affect the total counting of Eyes Devices with multiple network interfaces (multiple MAC address) can't be merged into single device. This affect also some type of switches which appear as multiple instances on Domotz when VLANs are configured Static IP address on the Domotz Box cannot be configured before configuring the Agent DHCP cannot be leveraged on additional VLANs on the Domotz Box

    Disable Map View

I would actually like to ask if it were possible to make the location field available to be auto-completed via an snmp call. meaning a device that has location information (let, long) was able to feed the domotz location, so that the map can be auto updated. Thank you, Tim.
  28. TimAG

    Devices with multiple IP addresses

I'd like to bump this request as I have the same issue. It is happening with switches with different interface for vlans, firewalls with multiple interfaces, servers, PABX and other VOIP equipment. Thanks, Tim.
