sdogg71
I haven't been able to find an answer on this. I know that the Domotz Pi will auto update the agent but I don't see any info on updating a non-Domotz Pi's agent. Thanks!
Silvio
The Domotz software is made of a "package" which includes an "agent". The agent is updated automatically, and this happens also for non-Domotz PI. But some major releases of Domotz may require a mandatory update of the whole package. In this case you will need to reinstall the whole package, unless you have a Domotz-Box or a Domotz-PI.
GregS
How do we know when that is? I like the product, I've converted all my Ihijis to it, however lack of documentation about what is changing between versions can bothersome. For example, my clients all show 1.1.7, but your latest notes only show to 1.1.5. What happened since then?
Giancarlo
Domotz periodically updates the release notes on the community forum. Latest release notes are available here: We usually update the list as soon as we have significant changes. I confirm that at the moment the latest version of the Domotz Agent is 1.1.7 as you correctly pointed out. Thanks.
System_Error_Message
i reinstalled the entire domotz package and have the latest version of the agent but the web interface shows otherwise. The interfaces shows the agent version of 0.9.4 while the device itself shows version 1.1.7. Because of this i cant reset the agent as it says version not supported. Leaving the pi running domotz for a few hours doesnt show any updates or even changes or any devices.
Giancarlo
The Agent is composed of two parts: the external Package (the one you installed, version 0.9.4) and the internal logic (in your case 1.1.7). This internal logic is automatically updated whenever there is a new release with additional functionality. The external part, for obvious reasons, can't be upgraded automatically on your own devices (Raspberry or NAS). In any case, it seems like you did not complete the configuration of the Agent after you complete the reinstallation of the package. Did you proceed with the "resume" of the configuration? You should login in the web interface of the agent, insert your credentials and press resume: usually available on http://<RASPBERRY IP>:3000
System_Error_Message
I did that and it still didnt update externally.
Giancarlo
It seems like the Agent is not able to connect to our cloud. I suppose you downloaded the latest package. If so, as soon as you are able to Login within the Web page of the Agent and resume the configuration, it should contact the cloud to update the version there. Which are the Domotz processes running on the Raspberry Pi?

Giancarlo
I don't see anything strange here. Can you provide me with the domotz agent logs (/var/log/domotz/), even in private (so that you don't spoil private info)?
System_Error_Message
i've got the logs, how do i send it to you in private?
