boojew
I would love for Domotz to give me some basic host resource monitoring for my Windows, Linux, ESX, etc.. hosts. SNMP would be fine by me for this. I'd like to see CPU, memory and disk with the ability to have alerts for these.
Giancarlo
We are working to make the SNMP - Custom OiD configuration easier to be done. So far, there are some templates which can help in the configuration of SNMP monitoring (including the Alerting) for the CPU, Mem and volume, especially for the Linux server. We will look forward to add similar templated for Windows server and ESX as well. It would be great to list the OiD and Type for these parameters, so that the template creation is easier. boojew
Yes, sorry - my FR was 100%. I was looking for auto discovery of resources.
grossmat
Hi Giancarlo, Wondering how the SNMP project is going? We are specifically interested in printer consumables and other 'wear' items on the device as well as various network, NAS and other related core infrastructure items. We've had some success manually setting this up for sites, but it can be tedious so being able to draw on brand/manufacturer templates and then selecting common categories, would be super helpful. Cheers, Matt
Giancarlo
Some printers are already available as template (they are automatically recognized starting from the SysOid). If you have some specific models you want to add, we can work together to enrich the database with them. Please, contact me on a private message. AI-IT
Any progress in monitoring Windows machines, specifically disk space? I have set up Eyes using SNMP OIDs for drives but it reports 4K blocks used. I set up alerts for when the 4K block used for a particular drive exceeds a value that I calculated, but it would be nice if this can be a domotz service that I can easily access and work with in human friendly values. Perhaps domotz can leverage WMI?

Our Engineering team has started investigating in this direction. We will spend part of the first half of next year in this direction. The list of new features which we will bring in the next few months is already particularly reach, but we recognize the value of this feature as well. Thank you. From what I can tell it doesn't utilize WMI. To get additional information on a Windows device you need to utilize WinRM or SSH.
