Report Scheduling

It would be nice if we could schedule report generation so that we don't have to manually go in to each agent and generate the monthly report. A little more report automation would be tremendously helpful.

Wanting to give this a bump,

Automated reporting would be an essential bonus.

;

1. Including to request a report for a specific calendar month, or 30 day period up to a specific date.
2. Ability to automise the sending of the monthly report on a specific date (like at the end of the month / first day of the calendar month, for the previous month?!)

It is a little bit of a hassle to manually go and request a report of every agent at the end of the month, and a further hassle if you happen not to do it on that specific day and end up doing it a day or three later.

And aside from this, it would be good to be able to receive the data in an editable format, so that it can be integrated into the more complete report that I create (which includes my time sheet and other performance reports.)

Adding to this note;

Today I received a monthly FING report.. which includes quite a detailed internet performance report.

 

It is very nice, informative and comes at the end of the month....

 

Anything from the Domotz box in that regard?

An automatic end of month report... details about the connection - internet performance?

I assume all info available to Fing is available to Domotz.

 

And needless to say, with a way to download the same in a raw format so that it can also be integrated into our AV integrator monthly report?

I agree with your view, and I like the idea of having the possibility to automatically schedule the report to be generated on a specific date. It is in our roadmap of features to be developed, even though I can't promise exactly when this will be available.

Thanks, good to hear.

The reporting feature is a major bonus to this unit, as it is the assurance as an integrator to their client that their system is being maintained and you are being active about it.

Hello,

I need to give this another bump.

 

For me the biggest failure of this unit at the moment is on the reporting side, and the consequent analysis possibility.

 

1. The inability to schedule reports, or that reports are automatically sent at the end of the month.

2. That the reports that you do get are limited in information.
           It tells you how many devices are connected, and if the agent is online or not
           It gives you 2 graphs of showing internet speed and latency

           It has a list of all the devices and when they were first seen.

 

Considering it is supposed to be a report, it gives very little insight in to what is happening! No analytics!

Your Monthly (consumer) Fing report gives already a lot more  .. average Down/up speeds, uptime%, outages, specifically bad days of note

One would expect on minimum the same info on your professional unit?!?

 

3. And there is no data for analysis, something to help spot issues!  If not done on the server side, at least a way to get the raw data so that you can do it yourself... a particular device not responding to the pings regularly, An overview of the alerts sent during the month, Devices not identified properly, Access made via tcp tunneling.

 

Is there any roadmap for this?  For me this is a big shortfall of this unit. I am a person who likes visibility and insight, the ability to use data to make sure things a re performing at their maximum, and also to use the same data to demonstrate to the client that their system is looked after and when and why intervention was made and if there are any potential consequences!

 

Looking for some positive development in this aspect.

from FING

 

and I remain amazed that your consumer product gives a better monthly report (automated at that) than your professional product.

 

Any movement on this?
